The Code
The Committee and members of the British Association Of Investigators and Process Servers will at all times comply with this code.
1 Members will conduct themselves in the profession with honest, sincerity and integrity in all dealings with clients.
2. Members will verify the credentials of clients and satisfy themselves that clients have a moral and legitimate reason to instruct any investigation.
3. Members will carry out enquiries to the best of their abilities and furnish a factual report.
4. Member will avoid all misleading statements in publicity and advertising.
5. Members will never knowingly represent more than one opposing party in a single matter and do all in their power to avoid a conflict of interest.
6. Members will attend before the committee when reasonably requested to do so.
7. Members will promptly and accurately report results of an investigation to a client.
8. Members must inform the Committee if convicted of a criminal offence, not pertaining to traffic law.
9. Members shall ensure that employees of members adhere to this code of ethics.
10. Members are required to be registered under the Data Protection Act 1999 and produce proof when renewing or applying for membership.
